TIL During the Nigerian Civil War in the late 1960s, Norwegian government sent Stockfish (dried preserved cod fish) as food aid. Stockfish ended up becoming a Nigerian staple. Now, almost all of the Stockfish produced in Norway is exported to Nigeria.
