TIL of Brian Zimmerman, who gained national attention in 1983 for being elected mayor of Crabb, Texas, a town outside of Houston, at the age of 11. He won in a landslide with 23 out of only 30 votes cast. He ran on formally incorporating the town to avoid annexation, but was unsuccessful.
