TIL of Stingy Jack. He was banned from Heaven and Hell when he died. Forced to walk the Earth in darkness, the Devil gave him an ember from Hell. Jack carved a turnip and out the ember inside to light his way. They called him Jack of the Lantern, or Jack-O-Lantern.
