TIL: “Obetrol” was FDA-approved January 19, 1960 marketed as a diet pill, prescribed in 10 and 20mg formulations. In 1979, amphetamines were banned for weight loss, and Obetrol was withdrawn... then it was reintroduced in the 1990’s as Adderall for ADHD.
