TIL: Egg tempera is a painting medium that uses egg yolk to bind pigments. It was a ubiquitous technique during the early Italian Renaissance, when it was considered the standard for portable easel paintings. Botticelli, Raphael, and Andrew Wyeth all painted with tempera.
