TIL: That after finishing 6th at the 1968 Olympics, Ron Clarke visited his predecessor as the world’s greatest distance runner, Emil Zátopek. When he left for Australia, Zatopek gave him a present to be opened on the plane. It was one of his gold medals with a note saying "because you deserve it."
