TIL: That Denis Thatcher and his first wife, Margot Kempson, never actually lived together. After his demobilisation in 1946, Kempson told him she wanted a divorce having met someone else. Thatcher was so traumatised by the event that he refused to ever talk about the marriage or the separation.
