TIL that Tony Iommi, of Black Sabbath, accidentally cut off the tips of two fingers on his right hand on his last day of work in a sheet metal factory. He was depressed, until his factory manager told him about Django Reinhardt- a guitarist who had also lost some fingers. It inspired him to play.
