TIL Iron Maiden wrote a song based on Dune, the classic sic-fi novel. The band initially wanted to name the song “Dune”, but were met with the following message upon requesting permission: “Frank Herbert doesn’t like rock bands, particularly heavy rock bands, and especially bands like Iron Maiden”.
