TIL of the Galileo Spacecraft, which deployed a probe to penetrate Jupiter's atmosphere. The probe was going over 106,000 mph when it reached Jupiter, fast enough to travel from LA to NYC in 90 seconds. The probe transmitted data from within Jupiter for about an hour before pressure crushed it.
