TIL of WW1 Casualty/Mercy dogs. Dogs trained to find wounded or dying soldiers on the battlefield that also carried medical supplies so an injured soldier could try to treat himself (whilst more gravely wounded soldiers would seek the company of a Mercy dog to wait with them whilst they died).
