TIL in 1914, British WW1 soldier Thomas Hughes throw a bottle with a letter to his wife into the English Channel. He was killed 2 days later. In 1999, a Fisherman found the bottle in the River Thames. Hughes wife had died in 1979 but the letter was delivered to the soldier’s 86 year old daughter
