TIL that human sacrifices to God are rare in the Bible. One is the Judge Jephthah vowing to give "whatever comes out of my door to meet me when I return" as a burnt offering in order to win a battle. His daughter was sacrificed after being given two months to mourn her virginity in the mountains.
