TIL about Flight 149. On 8/2/1990, the flight stopped to refuel in Kuwait, the same day Iraq invaded Kuwait. All 385 passenger and crew were taken hostage and were abused. Allegedly, the flight was allowed to fly despite warning from the Foreign Office, because it was a Trojan horse for MI6 agents.
