TIL in 2003, North Korea suggested several symbols which were included in international Unicode, later becoming emojis. They requested ☕ to mark tea houses on maps and ⚐ & ⚑ for military battles and victories. They also requested ⬆, ⬇, ⬅ (but no right arrow), ☔, ⚡, ⚠ and ⏏.
