TIL in 2014 and 2019 an environmental group, the Center for Biological Diversity, wanted to introduce grizzly bears into Arizona, including Grand Canyon. The reintroduction of grizzly bears to the greater Southwest would’ve helped control prey population and sustain the health of deer and elk herds.
