TIL that ticks can paralyze and kill humans with their saliva. Tick paralysis takes 2-7 days of tick toxin exposure and leads to paralysis of the legs, arms, and eventually the diaphragm. The disease can be reversed if the tick is found and removed before respiratory failure occurs.
