TIL George Orwell's 1984 was heavily inspired in terms of themes and plot by Russian Yevgeny Zamyatin's 'We', an anti-utopian book which Orwell has stated had a great impact on him. The book was written 26 years before Orwell's 1984 but looks critical acclaim it deserves.
