v1nXB TIL that during the Men's Marathon at the 1904 Olympics, competitor Fred Lorz, after suffering from a cramp, hitched a ride in a car. After the car broke down after driving for 19 miles, Fred re-entered the race and jogged to the finish line, winning the marathon.
