TIL ex-Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer admitted that in 2013 Yahoo should've purchased either Netflix at $4 billion or Hulu at $1.3 billion instead of buying Tumblr at $1.1 billion stating it "would have been a better acquisition." By 2016, Yahoo had to write down Tumblr's value by a total $712 million.
