TIL about Dr. Rodney Marks, an Australian astrophysicist who died from methanol poisoning while working at the Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica. The cause of the fatal methanol poisoning has never been determined. Forty-nine other people were at the base at the time of Marks' death.
