TIL a week after The Shining premiered in theaters, director Stanley Kubrick cut a final scene in a hospital, where Wendy and Danny learn that Jack's body could not be found. The scene was subsequently physically cut out of prints by projectionists and returned to the studio by order of Warner Bros.
