TIL the Polish Beer-Lovers' Party, a satirical political party, won 16 seats in Poland's lower house in the 1991 election. The party soon split into Large Beer and Small Beer factions, despite their founder's claims that "beer is neither light nor dark, it is tasty". The party eventually dissolved.
