TIL- The Lend-Lease bill signed by President FDR during WW2 was called House of Representative bill 1776 (H.R. 1776). The bill was purposely given the code 1776 as a jab at Britain but it allowed Britain to borrow an unlimited amount of money and supplies to defend against Hitler.
