TIL there was an olympic wrestling gold medal match that lasted for more than 9 hours, in the 1912 light heavyweight division. Since the fight was declared a draw and the gold medalist was required to have defeated his opponent, no gold medals were awarded and both finalists received silver instead.

TIL that in 1987 a group in Mumbai, India pretending to be CBI officers (Indian FBI) advertised and conducted interviews claiming to be hiring "Intelligence and Security Officers". 26 people were hired, and then they were used to "raid" (rob) a jewelry store. The group was never caught.

TIL Grant & Lee met again in 1869, 4 years after the American Civil War at the White House when Grant was President of the U.S. and Lee president of Washington University. Grant cracked a joke at Lee about railroads but Lee refused to smile. Their meeting was brief, lasting 15 minutes.
