TIL that when doctors did not belive Drs. Barry Marshall and Robin Warren’s discovery in 1982, which showed that Helicobacter pilory causes stomach ulcers, Marshall himself drank a beaker of H. pylori culture. He bacame ill of stomach ulcers and they won the nobel prize in physiology in 2005.
