TIL Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ was labelled “immoral” and banned in a Virginia school. She wrote a letter determining school board member illiteracy as the issue causing this decision and donated to a fund hoping “to enroll the (School Board) in any first grade of its choice”.
