TIL in 1932 both Douglas MacArthur and Dwight Eisenhower used six M1917 tanks and an infantry division to run over and drive out WW1 veterans who occupied DC. They were demanding to be paid their bonus they received in 1924 but which could not be redeemed until 1948.
