TIL Indonesia briefly withdrew from the United Nations in 1965 in response to the election of Malaysia to the UN Security Council amid conflict between the two nations. Indonesia returned to the UN a year later after Sukarno's ouster. This remains the only time a country has withdrawn from the UN.
