TIL Emily, a three-year-old cow, escaped from a slaughterhouse in 1995 and wandered the backyards and woods of Boston’s suburbs for 40 days. She ran with herds of deer and was given help from residents to evade capture. She was eventually purchased by a “Peace Abbey” on Christmas Eve.
