TIL that when you use laundry detergent labelled as a “brightener,” it doesn’t make the clothing any cleaner or restore its color….it’s actually a chemical combination that absorbs more light in the electromagnetic spectrum and re-emits fluorescent light to make the clothing appear brighter.

gkP8 TIL that in the Pokemon episode “The Whistle Stop” one of the characters (James) starts to get eaten by one of his own Pokemon and speaks gibberish; when played backwards, it is “Leo Burnett and 4Kids are the Devil!”. This was as a protest when the voice actors wouldn’t be paid for commercial work.
