TIL Victor Klemperer, Jewish KZ inmate and post-war professor of German literature, wrote a book which analyses how nazis introduced a nearly Orwellian kind of German language. Examples are "crisis" for defeat, "connection" (Anschluss) for annexation, and "enhanced interrogation" for torture.
