TIL that while making 'Léon: The Professional', director Luc Besson married and impregnated 15-year-old Maïwenn Le Besco, whom he had met 3 years earlier. Maïwenn would later say in an interview that the relationship between Mathilda and Léon in the film was inspired by her relationship with Besson.
