TIL that Stephen Lee was one of three anti-Apartheid activists who escaped from Pretoria Prison in 1979. In 1980, the warden in charge that night was put on trial for aiding their escape. Lee wrote a letter to a South African newspaper proclaiming his innocence. The warden was eventually acquitted.
