TIL after Ed Catmull & Alvy Ray Smith were rejected by 35 VCs, Steve Jobs invested $10m for 70% of Pixar in 1986. However after several refinancings, Jobs had invested $50m total (half of the money he'd made from Apple). Then in 2006 Jobs became a multibillionaire when Disney bought PIxar for $7B+.
