TIL the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust allowed South African scientists from Transvaal Museum to analyze 24 pipe fragments found at William Shakespeare’s home. Eight of the pipes contained traces of cannabis and two contained traces of cocaine. Others appear to be laced hallucinogenic nutmeg extracts.
