TIL a woman named Irena Sendler, who worked in the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII, saved 2,500 Jewish children’s lives by smuggling them out, she was eventually caught and tortured. In 2007 she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Price. She was not selected. Al Gore won, for a slide show on global warming.
