TIL in 1995 a Hospital in Memphis anonymously received a $1 million McDonalds Monopoly game piece in the mail. McDonalds paid the hospital the prize of $50k for 20 years. It was later learned this piece was acquired as part of a years long scam and mailed to the hospital by the ring leader.
