TIL Hannelore Kohl, wife of the German Chancellor Helmut Kohl (1982-1998), was gang-raped and thrown out a first-floor window by Soviet soldiers as a 12 year old in 1945. She committed suicide in 2001, after a long battle with mental problems most likely caused by these suppressed traumas.
