TIL that a TV movie about nuclear war called The Day After (1983), starring Steve Guttenberg and Jon Lithgow, may have prevented nuclear war. When Ronald Reagan wrote about it he said it left him "greatly depressed". This lead to the signing of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty in 1987.
