TIL that the The Redbury New York Hotel in Manhattan operated as a women's-only hotel for 95 years. Their clientele included literary women, students, a YWCA manager, painters, advertisers, and accountants. The hotel was sold in 1997 and converted to a co-ed tourist hotel after being "underused."
