TIL the African American exhibit at the 1900 Paris Exhibition, curated by W.E.B. DuBois & Thomas J. Calloway, featured 200 books by African Americans, collected by Daniel Murray. Murray's list was the Library of Congress' first bibliography of African American literature.. More in the comments....

W4v4 TIL In April 2008, Prince covered “Creep” at Coachella. This version was captured on a video and uploaded to Youtube. However, it was quickly taken down at Prince’s request. After finding out about the blocking, Thom Yorke was quoted as saying: “Well, tell him to unblock it. It’s our song.”
Z8JEo TIL there is a small strip of land in North Carolina which is officially British. This small cemetery is the burial place of several soldiers killed in World War 2. It flies the British flag, and the 'forever lease' states that it is British land.
W0rd TIL that in 2006, Fiji water ran an ad saying “The label says Fiji because it’s not bottled in Cleveland”. Cleveland took offense to that and ran some tests - turns out Cleveland’s tap water is better than Fiji’s bottled water.
