TIL that Eleanor Roosevelt and Amelia Earhart were very close friends. One time, they snuck out of the White House to go to a party together. After flying with Earhart, Roosevelt obtained a student’s permit to fly, though didn't pursue this further since Franklin didn't want his wife to be a pilot.
