TIL In 2015, Hashima Island was added to the UNESCO WHC as part of the Meiji Revolution, but was also the site of Korean forced labor. Korea withdrew its opposition after Japan's promise to take measures to remember victims. Immediately after approval, the Japanese FM publicly denied forced labor.
