TIL In 1992, Latasha Harlins a 15 year old black girl was shot and killed with $2 in her hand after a Korean store clerk wrongly thought she was trying to steal juice. Her killer received only a $500 fine and served no prison time. Korean stores were later targeted during the LA riots in response.
