TIL Julius Ceaser was assassinated on the 15th March in 44BC, better known as the Ides of March. His assailants (60 members) were members of the senate and one of them was Ceasers best friend, Marcus Brutus. After the assassination, the Senate passed an amnesty on the assassins.
