TIL Senator Benjamin Tillman once called his fellow Senator from South Carolina, John L. McLaurin, corrupt. In return, McLaurin called Tillman a liar. Tillman then punched McLaurin in the face and McLaurin punched Tillman in the nose. The Sergeant at Arms and other Senators intervened to stop them.
