TIL because M. Night Shyamalan funded Split himself, the Universal execs didn't find out that it was a sequel to his film Unbreakable until their first screening of it & were "completely flummoxed" because the latter is a Disney movie. But Shyamalan told them it's ok, he'd already gotten permission.
