TIL - Microsoft "BOB", the failed user-friendly interface for Win 3.x, was created as a direct response to Packard Bell's earlier "Navigator". MS tried to force them to use BOB instead, forcing Navigator off with Win 95, threats of higher Windows prices, and licensing changes forbidding alt shells.
