TIL that Val Kilmer and Rob Lowe both declined the role of Paul Atreides in the 1984 Film “Dune” (the role went to Kyle MacLachlan). Val Kilmer had yet to appear in a film production, his debut ended up being in the 1984 comedy “Top Secret”.
